Ronaldo’s first game in Europe’s top club competition for his Italian club ended in a most surprising and sorrowful moment as he gets red card to mark his best game end of reign for the day.

An apparent clash with Jeison Murillo led to the disgraceful moment of having Cristiano Ronaldo been sent off in his first Champions League game for his Italian club Juventus.

What really happened?

For just first 20 minutes into his Champions League opener against Valencia, Ronaldo appeared to make contact with Murillo’s head in an off-the-ball incident like been presided by a lines man.

Funny enough the pair had come together with Murillo hitting the deck, and Ronaldo reaching down to make brief contact as he passed by the de-reigned defender.

The red card was sent off for the mini incident, leaving Ronaldo visibly distraught as he was shown red card by referee Felix Brych.

The Portuguese front man first fell to the turf in shock, and is later with his face in his hands. And all of a sudden, Ronaldo in tears.

What do this mean to Ronaldo?

For the records, it was the first red card in the Champions League in Ronaldo’s career, in his 154th appearance.

It also means Ronaldo will miss the next game against Young Boys, and most likely their trip to Old Trafford to face his former English club Manchester United.

Even though UEFA’s Disciplinary Body will keep in check for actions.

According to UEFA regulations which states that
“As a rule, a player who is send off the field of play will get suspension for the next match in a UEFA club competition”.

(i.e. UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League or UEFA Super Cup).

Moreover; in case of serious offences, the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body is entitle to augment this punishment.

Including extending it to other competitions or in the same tournament.

How did Juventus players React?

The layers were in shock over the red card incident.
